The electronic tach doesn't bounce around as much as the video shows. It goes across the top two handlebar clamp bolts. I intend to ride it over the winter and will report the charging performance back to the forum. With the headlight on it goes below 12.7 and will drain the battery. This video shows my 450 running and the voltage readings. The current increases with the speed the engine turns it. Honda twins have what is known as fixed output alternators. Modern voltage regulators will cut off the voltage at 13.7 volts, however under certain conditions the voltage can go higher. When the voltage is above 12.7 volts the battery is being charged. When the voltage measures less than 12.7 volts the battery is being drained. To charge the battery, the electrical system voltage must measure more than 12.7. A fully discharged battery will measure 12 volts or less. A fully charged battery will measure 12.7 volts. A voltmeter allows the health of the charging system to be monitored. I had a 55/60 watt H4 in the garage so I installed it. After I finished the day's work on the GL1100 restoration.
#Cb450 headlight mounty full
I've always thought this bike could run a full legal 55/60 H4 headlight. The low beam went out over the summer and I just ran it on the high beam. The new electrical pigtail will have to be wired into your existing harness.I took the 450 out for a ride today and discovered the high beam filament burn out. The yellow parking light can be connected to the brown/white wire to turn on when the key switch is in parking mode.

Installation Tip: See the above video on how to install the new lens, as it mounts differently from the factory sealed beam and bypasses the left / right adjustment screw. We do not currently have a replacement lens capable of working in the factory bucket but we do carry a full replacement bucket that includes the lens and bulb. Additionally, the lens features a yellow parking light that can be wired into the factory parking light power terminals.ĬB360 / C元60 Owners: While your motorcycle does use a 6.25" lens, unfortunately, this lens does not work in the factory bucket. This lens fits the factory bullet-style headlight bucket with trim ring and includes the bulb, mounting hardware, and a new electrical pigtail connector. When paired with our regulator/rectifier combo, these are the best electrical upgrades you can do for your Honda. This all adds up to more light, without overworking the charging system (typical H4 bulbs are higher wattage).
#Cb450 headlight mounty upgrade
The 6.25" lens uses a replaceable H4 bulb at 35 watts / 35 watts for both the high and low beam, however, you can upgrade to our LED bulb for an even brighter light with less power draw on the charging system. Our halogen headlight lens fits the factory Honda CB175, CB200, CL200 / CB350, C元50 / CJ360 / CB450, CL450 headlight buckets. Do yourself a favor and upgrade your headlight lens. Why You Need This: The factory-sealed headlight bulbs are weak, and replacements are tough to find for most old Honda motorcycles. Part: Honda CB175, CB200, CL200 / CB350, C元50 / CJ360 / CB450 (K1-K4), CL450 Headlight Lens & H4 Bulb Kit (Bucket and Trim Ring Not Included)
